Pastor Gary has been the called pastor since April 2014. Prior to that he served as the long-term pulpit supply for our church. He also serves as a spiritual director on staff at the Spiritual Renewal Center in Syracuse, and is a retreat leader and presenter. In addition to his ministry at East Side Congregational UCC, Gary is the executive director of Moving In Congregations Acting in Hope (MICAH), a faith-based community organization that trains and supports everyday people so they can identify and research issues of inequality, and address community concerns with public leaders. Gary went to seminary at St. Bernard’s in Rochester, NY, has a degree in political science from SUNY Albany, and also studied and worked in the field of journalism. He and his wife, Bonnie, have one son, Elijah.
Alicia has been The Administrative Assistant since February, 2014. Prior to that she was a Music Therapist, Recreation Leader and Recreation Director in Nursing Homes and Senior Centers in the Broome County Area. Alicia has a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa and did her intership in Fredrick, MD. As well as working as The Administrative Assistant, Alicia works Full Time at the YMCA in Binghamton at The Member Services Desk.
In her spare time she volunteers for Chatholic Charities and sings for special events, sports events and Churches in NY and PA. Alicia takes care of both her parents and lives with her cat, Arabella.
